This maple bowl is distinct in 2 ways.
1. The dark wavy lines are called spalting, giving the grain a beautiful pattern.
2. I have inserted a 4" diameter 'coaster' in the bottom of the bowl. It is sealed in place and flush with the inside of the bowl.
The bowl is food safe. The rim is shaped for comfortable handling.

Care of wood products
For inside display only. wood art piece should be kept out of direct sunlight. Do not explse a wood product to extreme changes in temperature, such as leaving it in an unheated sunroom over the winter.
If used for food, rinse out the piece out withi water following use and drip or towel dry. Do not put a wood piece in the dishwasher. If wood becomes very dry, butcher block oil can be applied, but this rarely has to be done. Do not use any cooking oil, as it could turn rancid.
