Added Artistic Work

The artistic pieces shown on this page are examples of my more creative side. They represent various artforms: epoxy-resin/wood turnings, acrylic paint pour technique, multiaxis turnings and carving. For epoxy-resin turning, wood pieces are fixed in position within a mold, the colored epoxy poured into the mold and the item is allowed to cure (often takes 72 hours. The piece is then placed on the lathe and turned to the desired form. THe resin/walnut wet vase below is an example of epoxy-resin turning. For acrylic pouring, acrylic paint is diluted with water and/or a special dilutant . Various colors are poured int a cup. Once the cupc is full of layers of the various colors, the cup contents are poured onto a surface, such as a canvas. The paints are then spread by various  techniques to create the desired pattern. Deep Forest below is an example of acrylic paint pouring. For multiaxis turning the wood blank is placed onto the lathe in various orientations and turned in each orientation, creating a unique pattern. The candlestick, Contrasting... and Rotating... are examples of multiaxis turning.
